Friday, June 5 was our fifth wedding anniversary. As a treat we took ourselves to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina, about a two hour’s drive from Wake Forest. We had a fantastic time walking the five miles of trails, watching equally the exotic animals and the exotic rednecks with which the Zoo teemed, and we also enjoyed watching Poppy’s reactions to all the different animals.
