Life and Science with Annika and Carrie

Today we went to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham with our wonderful friends Carrie and Annika.  It just so happened to be Carrie’s Birthday so we were very honoured to be spending some of the day with her.  Poppy and Annika are BFFs.  They are so cute together because they are the same size and at the same stages of development.  (Poppy is just a month younger).  Poppy and I are really sad that they’re moving to California soon :(

Carrie was trying to get them to look at the camera! Haha

Look at Annika's big blue eyes, aren't they absolutely amazing! She gets comments on them just like Poppy gets comments about her hair.

Annika was a big girl and sat on the toy horse, Poppy wouldn't go near it

My Little Amish Girl

Granny C (Drew’s Mom) bought a little Amish outfit and we had fun taking photos of Poppy wearing it!!!  Oh my, she looked so adorable it melted my heart.

She would make the perfect little Amish girl

Bare foot and everything

You can tell shes a fake because her hair wouldn't be hanging down all untidy like that

Bye bye

Poppy’s First Visit To Maust Mountain

After the wedding we slept at the Maust Family cabin and it was alot of fun feeling like we were camping.  The next morning a few of the Maust family came over for breakfast and Duane and Chris cooked up a storm.  At around 1100 we had a little service and two of Drew’s cousins played the guitar and drum and we all sang some hymns.  Drew gave a little talk giving us all something to think about.  And then we ate a pot luck lunch where everyone bought different dishes.  It was exceptionally good food.  And for the rest of the afternoon we just hung out and relaxed.  It was so beautiful up there that day, the sun was shining and it was so peaceful.

Darwin and Christina’s Wedding

Saturday (Aug 28th) evening we headed to Friendsville, Maryland for the wedding of Drew’s Uncle Darwin.  It was in the most beautiful location, the ceremony was outside in front of water and the reception was in a barn at the same location.  It was a wonderful wedding and fantastic to see all the Maust family again.

Meeting Miss Lily

Last Friday we met our new niece Lily Irene for the first time.  She was still very tiny and is the best baby I have ever met, I don’t think we heard her cry for the whole day.  Even when she is hungry or needs her diaper changed she doesn’t really cry she kinda yelps in a really cute way.

From Drew’s parents house we drove down to Morgantown and went straight to Lunch for a Buck where Mountaineer Campus Ministries puts on lunch for the students of WVU for the small fee of $1.  There we met Matt and Christina and Lily.  Matt fortunately could take his lunch break out to come and eat with us.  It was also a bit of a reunion with some old Morgantown friends.

After lunch we drove around Morgantown and took photos of the houses/apartments we lived in back in.  Then we went to hang out with Christina and Lily at their apartment.

Then we headed back to Greensburg PA and awaited the arrival of Aunt Barb and Grandma Irene.  Once they arrived we ate a yummy dinner and waited for Matt and Christina and Lily to arrive.  Then we all had a good time visiting for the evening.

In the morning we all hung out and got ready for the wedding of Drew’s Uncle Darwin and his finacee Christina.

This is where Drew used to live with Matt while they were bachelors.

The door on the right with the two windows was our first apartment, the place we lived when I immigrated. The door on the left was the entrance to the apartment upstairs.

Our second and final apartment in Morgantown, it was the one downstairs and to the back of the building.

Breakfast at Vivian’s

This morning we went next door to our neighbours Geth and Katie’s house for breakfast.  Poppy was so sweet with their little girl Vivian.  This made us realise that she’d be really good with a little brother or sister. (No I’m not announcing anything, I’m just saying).  Vivian is exactly (to the day) 9 months younger than Poppy, so she’ll be 4 months next Wednesday and Poppy will be 14 months.  They are the bestest of friends as you can see.

Give me your hand Vivian I want to hold it

Yay isn't this fun

"Poppy give Vivian a hug"

HAhaha, awkward!

Ahhhh, thats right

Come here Vivian, let me give you a hug

The best of friends!!

Poppy's going to be the BEST big sister!!!!

Poppy loved stroking Vivian's hair, hahahaha
