Drew and I are extremely excited to announce that we are having a baby!!!!
We found out the night Obama became president.
We have already seen the baby and heard the heartbeat.
We have been following the baby’s developments and had a good chuckle at the many fruits they use to describe the size all along the way.
We have now completed the the first trimester. Baby Bean is due July 3rd, a lovely summer baby.
Please be praying for us as we take this journey into becoming Mummy and Daddy.

Thank you Jessica! You have no idea how sad we were to miss the family gathering but the last few weeks have been so hectic and rushed that we didn’t get ourselves together in time to organise the time off and suddenly found ourselves committed with no way of getting out of it! I have 3 weeks off for Spring break so we’re hoping that maybe we can come to Hartville sometime around then. Take some good photos of tomorrow night for us!!
congratulations you guys!!!!! I was just telling your mom yesterday how funny it was because I had in my head that you guys were having a baby, but I didn’t know why I thought that and I asked David about it and he didn’t know of anything, so I thought maybe it was Matt & Christina and I was checking your blog to see if I had read it on here somewhere, but couldn’t find anything. I still don’t know if I dreamed it or what. how exciting! we did miss you yesterday! hope everything with the pregnancy goes well and that you are able to get plenty of rest. I remember being SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired in the first trimester and I think it was better after that. we’ll look forward to meeting your little one!
Thank you Christina! Did you read mine and Drew’s blog conversation about the peacock because maybe thats why you thought we were having a baby? haha. Actually I am relieved to hear that you too were SOOO tired because right now I feel like I could sit down and fall asleep at any point during the day! Over Christmas I would literally wake up, go downstairs, eat breakfast, go and sit on the couch and fall asleep again!! I’m a bit nervous because I start back at Nursing school next week and its so demanding that I need every waking moment to study and prepare for clinicals, so I am hoping that I can get myself into a good routine this week and then stay very organized and motivated when I get back to school. Luckily in 9 weeks I have 3 weeks off for spring break so I will just have to make it for 9 weeks and then I can collapse and recuperate.

I did read that funny peacock bit, so maybe I did dream it and that was what triggered it. Who knows! It’s not the first time I really thought someone was pregnant and couldn’t figure out how I came to that notion, but the other time I remember it wasn’t actually true =) I certainly hope that you get passed the tired stage soon! It was absolute torture trying to sit at a computer and I couldn’t think straight. David thought I was just trying to milk it and didn’t like that I wanted to take naps when we got home and then go to bed early on top of it! There is a girl at our church who is due in April and the poor girl hasn’t been able to sleep since she got pregnant basically. I mean just a couple of hours a night! She’s been to sleep specialists and tried everything, but I guess pregnancy just affects some people that way somehow. I’m not sure how she’s stayed remotely sane. I think she probably doesn’t feel very sane a lot of the time. Prayers that you can make it well through the 9 weeks!
i’m so so very excited for both of you!! i just know that you’re going to make a great set of parents. this baby is so lucky!! anyway, i hope you know that i do expect LOTS more posts keeping us out here in cyberspace updated on the progress of baby bean!! lots of love to you both, and see you soon! 🙂
