Our New Hobby

Our neighbours have bikes that they kindly let us borrow and we thought it would be a great idea now that the weather is hot and for my days off work that we buy Poppy a bike seat and started bike riding.  So last weekend Drew found a bike seat for sale on Craigslist, the seller had a mini bike helmet too!  Drew got a steal of a bargain, the seat and helmet for $20!!!  Drew fixed the seat to one of the bikes and gave Poppy a try out in the seat.  At first he said she was scared and didn’t like the helmet but after a couple of times she got used to it.  Yesterday was our first family bike ride and we took a picnic to eat while out.  We only rode around Wake Forest but it was a perfect little ride for Poppy, (shes only 10 months old after all.)  We started off riding down to the Historic District then up to the Seminary where Drew handed in his Syriac final.  After that we drove to the park by the library and had our picnic and played.  Following that we headed back home.  Poppy was such a good girl, I thought she would fuss about having to wear the helmet in such hot weather but she didn’t complain at all.  She even started falling asleep at the end.

The bikes are great. I love Poppy’s seat. It looks so safe and comfortable. You all look as though you have fun at the park.

Poppy, I like photo no.2 of you sitting so nicely in your bike seat and a later one where you are clapping your hands.
Maybe I shall have to choose a few photos to finish off my photo album of Poppy’s first year!
