Poppy’s First Christmas Party

On January 10th The Olde English Tearoom staff had their annual Christmas party.  Our boss Judy hosts it every year at her house and what a perfect location it is.  We all brought food and drinks and had great fun switching secret Santa gifts and playing the white elephant game.  The highlight of the evening though is definitely the chance to dress up for the occasion.  We started this tradition about 3 years ago when Drew decided he wanted to wear a tux to the party!  From that year on we have all taken the opportunity to bring out old bridesmaid dresses and old long formal gowns just for the fun of it.  So of course we had to dress Poppy in her pretty little Christmas dress, a hand-me-down from her second cousin Lauren.

Poppy had a great time at the party making friends with a little boy named Cole (Judy’s 17 month old Grandson).  He too got into the spirit of things in his mini white tux.  Poppy also made friends with Judy’s 5 year old Granddaughter Emily. Poppy got to see her friend Sarah again, who she hadn’t seen for a while and was told all about the new Star Trek movie from her friend Paul.

We had a really nice evening relaxing with all our friends including Ally, Paige, Jessica, Shawn, Christine, Royce, Patrice, Ashley, Isabella, Madeline, Cory, Matt, Emily, Owen, Shawn, Tom and Judy.  And Poppy didn’t sleep a wink the whole time we were there from 7pm-10pm, needless to say she was so overtired it was ridiculous but she held out well and even managed to give Cole a lesson in how to successfully get the most play out of wrapping paper.

Sadly this year may be our last tearoom party unless they invite us back next year as alumni.

What splendid pictures. I like the ones with Poppy sitting on the rocking chair and socialising with her friends. Such a big girl.
