A Little Boy and His Balloons Part 2

We had a lovely relaxing Sunday to celebrate Henry’s Birthday.

After getting dressed and heading out to church we arrived home to a wonderful Sunday lunch that Grandad had prepared.

Memaw had supplied the decorations, making the living room fit for a little boy’s birthday lunch.  The John Deere party blowers were extra special.

I’m making it an official tradition in this family that every baby gets a hedgehog cake on their first birthday.  Poppy had one …..

Henry’s hedgehog was comical, it definitely didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped because I was lacking the spikes and darker icing.  But it was a hedgehog nonetheless, I assure you.

This little bottomless pit wasn’t complaining though, he polished the entire cake off!  Just kidding, we only gave him a piece of cake so everyone could enjoy a taste.

This photo reminds me of the scene in the Matilda movie where the little boy has to eat the biggest chocolate cake you have ever seen. The entire school is cheering him on and he is so proud when he finally finishes because, I’m not kidding, that cake was humongous.  But actually I think Henry is saying “more please”.

After lunch Henry opened another present.

This party was definitely all about welcoming Henry into the world of tractors, farmers and their animals.

To end the day we went for a walk to the park.  And Daddy took some wonderful photos.

Every day Henry is showing more and more signs of being alot like his big sis.   One day they will be best friends, I’m sure of it.

One thing you should know about Henry, he is fearless.  Henry will go down the tallest of park slides on his own and absolutely love it.

It’s a good thing he has Sissy there to catch him 🙂
