Wow, looking at the date of our last post, it’s been almost a month. Where has June gone? Even more crazy to think about is where has 2013 gone…or half of it anyway. Soon we will be halfway through 2013 and that means we’ve been in Africa for half a year. Time is flying for us. How about for you?

The last month has been full of adventure. The ever-globetrotting grandparents Granny and Grandad arrived at the end of May and are staying for a month. Soon after they arrived, Emily and I took off to scope out a different part of the country in view of accepting a project in that region and moving out there. We’re moving ahead with moving in case you haven’t yet read our latest newsletter. Now would be a good time to express our thanks to Granny and Grandad for making this exploratory journey possible sans enfants (without the kids).

This month we also acquired a used vehicle, the solid 4×4 that we were hoping and praying for. We are continually amazed by your generosity! We got it off a French family whose work was transferring them to a different country. What an answer to prayer to find a suitable vehicle! It feels daunting enough buying a car in your home country let alone to have to do it abroad in a different language. Everything went smoothly though and we were able to test it out on the road recently on our trip to the coast and then on an afternoon trip through the jungle to the primate park.

So, between all these adventures, a month has elapsed. Oh and would you know that Emily and I celebrated eight years of marriage at the beginning of the month? What a wild ride.
