The Village People

Wise prophets once said,

Young man, there’s no need to feel down. I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground. I said, young man, ’cause you’re in a new town…
There’s no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there’s a place you can go… I said, young man, when you’re short on your dough. You can stay there, and I’m sure you will find…
Many ways to have a good time.

It’s fun to stay at the village stay!

We’ve been practicing the YMCA because this morning we leave to spend a week away from home in a village to complete the village stay portion of our orientation. How else do you prepare to meet the village people, but by practicing the YMCA?

Keep us in your prayers this week. Pray expecially for Henry who’s going through quite the bout of teething. The purpose of the village stay is to further acclimatize us to Cameroonian culture and we look forward to meeting and helping out our host family any way we can.

Going to the fields at 4am? Let’s do it. Going to grab some water? Load me up. Having a dance party? Show us the moves!

We’ll post again when we get back next week. We hope to have lots of photos and stories to share. Until then…maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to work on your YMCA moves!

Thank you Drew, Emily, Poppy and Henry for sharing the path God has taken you all on with me 🙂 I love love love reading and seeing the pictures of what God is doing through the lives of his people. And I enjoy reading the small day-to-day joys and mishaps. In other words I enjoy “stocking” your family Drew 🙂 Again I say thank you!
