Our experience at the hairdressers last Thursday could not have gone any better.

We woke Poppy up from her nap around 2.45pm to be at the salon by 3pm.  She woke up in a good mood which was the first blessing.  We told her straight away that we were going to get her hair cut and she was perfectly content with the idea.  Henry had gone for a walk with Granny so Poppy had Mummy and Daddy all to herself which may have been part of the reason she was such a good girl.

We arrived at the salon a little early so it gave us time to watch the hairdressers with the other people and get used to the place.  Right from the very beginning Poppy was as good as gold, she sat in Daddy’s lap happily watching what was going on, I was amazed she wasn’t trying to clamber about or ‘make herself at home’, she just sat there peacefully or maybe scared rigid?????

When it was our turn Poppy hopped up on to the special children’s chair and grabbed Winnie-The-Pooh to keep her company.  I had brought along some chocolate candy to give her if she started to get fidgety but it really wasn’t necessary and she didn’t even eat it all that much.

When the hairdresser first started Poppy was a little nervous and wanted to hold my hand but eventually she warmed up.  She wasn’t at all sad that her hair was being chopped off and even I didn’t feel too sad.  I was so ready for it to be more manageable.  Poppy was good the whole time.
