This morning was a hard one. I woke up more tired than usual from a busy but great week. Drew had class in the morning meaning I was on breakfast duty. Normally on days like this I would wait until Henry took his morning nap to hop in the shower. But today was different. I don’t know if Henry is teething (like he doesn’t have enough already) or whether he has caught the bug Poppy had last week, who knows. This morning however, he would not let me put him down. Most of the time I held him he was fussing and whining. I got to the point where I had to put him in the baby carrier (while still in my dressing gown) just to help him fall asleep. What a site I must have been.
Poppy this whole time wanted me to play with her. She is very big on having someone play along side her these days. She wants you to make up stories about the fairies while playing with her fairy castle or pretend there’s an obstruction (her legs) on her train set and you need the firemen to come and help the train get by. Then she wanted to do painting. Oh boy.
Poor Henry though, once he fell asleep in the carrier I tried to lay him down in his cot/crib. Usually this works like a charm and he just roles over and stays asleep. He really wasn’t himself today though. He cried hard straight away and wouldn’t settle so I picked him back up. He hasn’t been right all day and constantly looks exhausted.
Eventually I got Poppy set up with the painting and she was content.
Around 11am my parents arrived and I got to take a shower. Spoilt much? Yes.
The 5 of us took a little walk before lunchtime. The other thing Poppy is in to now is role-play and she LOVES to give everyone their roles to play in her imaginary world.
“Granny you be the Lion” she says pushing Granny towards the ground encouraging her to get down on all fours. “Granny do it!”.
“Grandad you pretend to be a man”. LOL. We all rolled about laughing!
She sounds like the director of a movie sometimes.
So here are some photos I took of her painting. Have a good weekend everyone!!
