What’s Cooking

When we got married, neither of us really knew how to cook. And while it might be fair to say that we still don’t, boy do we like to give it a try, especially me (Drew).

Tonight’s dinner was a simple one: pork chops, beet root salad, sweet corn and green salad with tomato. You’ll laugh when I tell you that the pork chop recipe I followed is called Cola Chops. Yes, cola. Now, I know that the families of some of our readers might frown upon the thought of not only drinking cola but especially cooking with cola. But this family drinks cola. Yep, we love it. So, cola chops seem like a good fit for us. Plus, this is the sort of “recipe” one could make anywhere (Cameroon?) one can find pork chops, cola and ketchup. Mix equal parts cola and ketchup, spread over chops and then cook until amazing. Voila. Let me know if you find it a worthy enough idea to try or, even better, share your favorite pork chop recipe (sorry veggietarians).

While you’re here and we’re on the topic of food, why don’t I share with you the method I use for dicing tomatoes. Learned this magic through the YouTubes and haven’t looked back since. Watch and be amazed. Do try this at home…with a sharp knife.

Cola chops sound good…and the tomato thing is AWESOME. But no sharp knives in this house….sad.
